This morning the mister wished me a "Merry Sickmas" and said I always get sick during break. I don't think that's true, but I went back in the archives and sure as shit, I was sick last year and the year before. His theory is that I hold on hold on hold on and then, when given 2 weeks off, my body says "screw it" and falls into the blehs.

Whatever; this year I have the ginger tonic and it's helping more than I thought possible. Srsly.

The good news is that I'm not super sick, just sort of sick. I can manage, yo. I can manage.

I watched the Liberaci thing on Amazon w/Matt Damon. I will say this: Rob Lowe's performance stole the whole movie. *squint* <3 <3 <3

We have a webcam pointed to the squirrel feeders and caught the flying squirrel on camera last night. SO CUTE!

I should be able to clean a bit before the family gets back. There's a weather advisory that's kicking in at 4 today until tomorrow at 5 -- so we're going to be socked in good. :)

What's your favorite "remedy" for feeling the sicklies? This is somewhat like a cold, but not quite. It's a mutation. :(

I think that's a standard issue for teachers. I am usually the same way, except I haven't yet. Not sure why... it's a little disconcerting, actually. :-). Not complaining, mind you... might be that this is the first year where I can actually reuse some lesson plans, so my stress levels are slightly lower than usual.

Luckily, it was a swift moving sickness. It's all gone now!

I actually thought Michael Douglas did an amazing performance in that. He was hardly recognizable.

I usually pop Aleve when I'm feeling slightly crappy.

He did Matt! The whole cast was amazing. :) But come on...when Lowe did that thin-lipped squinty smile, I about died of happy.

I had to take Tylenol due to a bad bad bad "air too dry, not drinking enough water" headache. I hate those.

Happens to me every winter, too. Usually it is Thanksgiving for me. I like to control it with NyQuil (I think quality sleep is the key), and then maybe Sudafed if I sniffle during the day. Like they say, left untreated, a cold will last a week. Go to the doctor, seven days!

This was an interesting sickness. I drank so much ginger tonic and could really feel it helping heat up and loosen the whatevers in my chest. Mister made me take a full day to sleep as much as I wanted to....and I was out of bed maybe 3 hours total on that day. I think that, along with the ginger tonic, caused this to move on faster than I have ever had something like this move on before.
